Roethlisberger is knocked out of the game with a concussion, Batch comes in and delivers a 25-yard pass to Ward
and the Steelers race up to the line to down the ball with 8 seconds to go.
Receiver Nate Washington flinches before Batch takes the snap and throws the
ball into the ground, a false-start penalty that automatically leads to the
remaining seconds being run off the clock. Ward slams his helmet to the turf in disgust. Despite Ward's incredible play, he doesn't
get what he wants most, to beat the Falcons. The Steelers lose in OT.

@ Carolina Panthers
Ward starts again after missing two games with a knee injury. He catches a team-high four passes for 59

Steelers push on.
Vs. Baltimore Ravens
Ward has a game-high eight receptions for 79 yards. Unknown at the time, this would be Coach
Cowher's last game as coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers after 15 years, and

this loss means the end of the run for the playoffs.

Ward has five receptions for 51 yards. He has now caught a
pass in 133 consecutive games. He rushes once for nine yards, passing Louis Lipps (388) as

Bengals a playoff berth.
W 23-17 in OT
Ward leads the team in receptions (74) and receiving yards (975),
with a team-high six touchdowns. If
not for missing two games with a knee injury, Ward would have again hit the
