RECAP   Ward is again selected to the 2003 Pro Bowl, his second straight trip.

Selected to the Associated Press second-team All-Pro squad.

Ward led the team in receptions for the third consecutive year and eclipsed his own team record with 112 receptions and also finished four yards ahead of Plaxico Burress for team high passing yardage honors (1,329), just 69 shy of Yancey Thigpen's team-record 1,398 yards (1997).

Ward became the first Pittsburgh wide receiver to post three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.

Ward scored 12 receiving TDs to tie Louis Lipps' (1985) and Buddy Dial's (1961) team record.

He became the first non-kicker to lead the team in scoring since 1977 (Franco Harris).

Named the 2002 recipient of The Chief Award, presented annually by the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Pro Football Writers of America to the player who best exemplifies the spirit of cooperation with the media established by the late founder, Arthur J. Rooney, Sr.

Ward eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark for the second straight year, joining Plaxico Burress as the first receiving tandem in team history to both surpass 1,000 receiving yards for two straight seasons.

He also led the team with 18 receptions for 186 yards and three TDs in the postseason.
