the game with three receptions for 51 yards. In the 4th quarter, Ward scores his first career TD on a
one-yard pass from Mike Tomczak for the Steelers

make the position of WR as played by Ward redefined,
he also gets credit for a special teams tackle and a tackle on an

Ward has two receptions for 19 yards.
@ Buffalo Bills
Ward completes a team-high six receptions for 67 yards and scores the
Steelers' first offensive TD in two games on a 12-yard pass from Kordell Stewart.

Ward has three receptions for 18 yards.
Vs. Atlanta Falcons
Ward ties with Courtney Hawkins and Will Blackwell for team lead with
three receptions in this Monday Night game, totaling 28 receiving yards.
@ San Francisco 49ers
Ward has four catches for 31 yards. Kordell
Stewart hit Courtney Hawkins, Hines Ward and Troy Edwards with big gainers,
setting up a 1-yard TD run by Jerome Bettis and then
a 13-yard TD pass to Hines.

reaches the 50-reception mark for the season.
Vs. Carolina Panthers
Ward again leads the team with five receptions for 40 yards and a TD
on a 9-yard pass from Mike Tomczak. Ward also has
one punt return for two yards.
Vs. Tennessee Titans
Ward finishes out the season with six catches for 68 yards and one TD
on a 15-yard pass from Tomczak, despite suffering a
fracture in his lower back in the first half of the game. He also has one kickoff
return for 24 yards.
Hines Ward tied for the team lead with Troy Edwards with 61
receptions for 638 yards, averaging 10.5 yards a reception and scoring a
team-high seven TD receptions. During
the season Ward also had one punt return for two yards and one kickoff return
for 24 yard. Hines served as a valuable
member of the special teams and started in 14-of-16 games. Already giving a
glimpse into his future years with the Steelers, he led the team with a
